Welcome to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Salem Mid-Willamette Valley. St. Vincent de Paul has been actively striving to understand and fulfill the needs families and individuals in financial crisis within Salem and the surrounding community since 1957.
We are here to aid the most vulnerable members of our community. Through our various programs, we reach out to those in need.
At St. Vincent de Paul, our goal is to deal with the initial emergency, then shepherd individuals into programs that can bring lasting change into their lives. Donations made locally are used and shared locally.
"Neighbors helping Neighbors"
That's what the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is all about - caring people helping their neighbors in need of the most basic necessities - food, shelter, clothing, transportation and emotional comfort. There are heartbreaking cirumstances right here in our own community, but practical, compassionate person-to-person caring can make a world of difference.
NEW YEAR BLESSINGS - hope comes with help...
Thank you for helping us help others…
When you donate to St. Vincent de Paul, you are immediately helping feed and provide shelter and utility assistance to your neighbors in crisis.
In the past year financial donations to St. Vincent de Paul have helped 6604 households obtain food at our food bank which is open Monday through Friday. Donors helped meet financial emergency needs of the families and individuals who abruptly lost their job; those stretching unemployment funds; grandparents suddenly asked to raise grandchildren; and the elderly on fixed incomes, especially when medical and prescription costs dip into their rent and utility funds.
Your financial donation to St. Vincent de Paul gives emergency assistance as a safety net for those making the tough decisions on which bill to pay when faced with lack of food, shut off utility notice and a rent payment.
