Our Emergency Services operates one of the largest food banks in the Mid-Willamette Valley, and also assists with rent and utilities, in-home visits to assess needs, sack lunches and clothing for the homeless.
The Society receives food from Marion and Polk Food Share as well as through local donations. We assist more than 600 families a month with food and other critical supports.
Oregon is the second hungriest state in our nation. No one should go to bed hungry and St. Vincent de Paul’s Food Bank is there to help.
Those in need of food select their own items, choosing what best suits the needs of their family. This approach decreases wasted food and is more like shopping in a supermarket, helping people maintain their dignity.
Donations of boxed or canned food items are accepted at all of our donation sites as well as both retail stores.
Last year, our Emergency Services dedicated staff and volunteers provided:
More than 25,000 food boxes
Grant assistance to 232 households
4160 lunches for homeless individuals
Clothing and bedrolls for more than 200 homeless adults and children
Volunteers Needed at St. Vincent de Paul Pantry
The St. Vincent de Paul Pantry offers an opportunity to join us hosting individuals in the pantry, preparing the food and stocking shelves or as a receptionist.
